Fibrocartillage, Dog
Under X10 objective, locate an area of fibrocartilage(stained light purple)
and note the presence of chondrocytes(round or ovoid cells in a lacuna).
Under high dry(X40 objective), examine a lacuna containing chondrocyte.
The nucleus is densely stained. Only remnant of cytoplasm remains. Do you see many collagen fibres
between the chondrocytes?
Move your field now to the edge of the section, do you see a lot of
fibroblasts(fibrocytes)?
Is there a perichondrium covering?
