Under X40 objective, identify the acidophils(pink cytopplasm),
basophils(dark purplish cytoplasm) and chromophobes(closely packed cells
containing only a small amount of poorly stained cytoplasm). Numerous
blood vessels(sinusoids) containing red blood cells are present. Under
low power, note that the cells are arranged in cords. They are
separated by a delicate connective tissue stroma which contains blood
vessels. The connective tissue is continuous with the surface covering.
