Suprarenal(adrenal) gland, Monkey

Identify the fibrous connective tissue capsule and trabeculae. Identify also the three zones of the cortex from outside inwards(zona glomerulosa, zona fasiculata, zona reticularis). Review the hormones synthesized by the cortical cells. The medulla is in the centre of the gland. Looking at the chromaffin cells, how woould you describe their cytoplasm? (granular? foamy?). What are the secretions of these cells? Large venules containing abundant red blood cells are present in the medulla. Occasional ganglion cells may be present in the medulla.
