Epithelial
Trachea in cross section
Locate first the epithelial lining of its lumen. Under X40, verify the
three different cell types that are present in the pseudostratified
columnar epithelium. Identify the nucleus of the goblet cells. The
cytoplasm of the goblet cell is foamy. Can you recognize the cilia
projecting into the lumen? Revise the ultrastructure of a motile cilium.
See demonstration electron micrographs on cilia, goblet cells and
columnar cells.
