Identify the lobular pattern similar to a serous salivary. However, the interlobular connective tissue is scanty. Intralobular ducts are clear. If possible, identify intercalated ducts and centro-acinar cells. No striated ducts are seen. Islets of Langerhans are easily picked up as pale areas under low power. Some autonomic nerve bundles and a lymph node are also seen outside the pancreas.
