Paired corpora cavernosa and a single corpus spongiosum are seen. The penile urethra is lined by stratified columnar epithelium. In the lamina propia, mucous secreting glands are seen. Most of the section is composed of erectile tissue, blood sinuses, collagen fibres and some smooth muscle cells.
