Examine the section under low magnification. The muscle fibres are cut in various planes of section. They are inserted obliquely to the tendon which stretches across the section(from left to right). Study a muscle fibre which is cut longitudinally. Can you recognize the cross striation(light and dark bands)? Note the location of the nuclei. Do you find any blood vessels between the muscle fibres? They usually contain red blood cells.
