Survey your section under low power. Identify the mucosa showing a transitional epithelium lining. The thick muscular layer consists of interlacing smooth muscle fibres. On one side of the section you may see a serosal coat(a layer of simple squamous epithelium resting on a small amount of supporting connective tissue). Elsewhere the bladder shows an adventitia in which may be found blood vessels, autonomic ganglion cells, nerve bundles and even pacinian corpuscles. In some slides, the vas deferens in transverse section is also included in the section.
