Useful Links(1) Student Pass Matters (International Students Only) International Students need a valid passport to enter Singapore. For candidates from countries which require an entry visa to enter Singapore (http://app.ica.gov.sg/travellers/entry/visa_requirements.asp), the University will also be applying the visa cum Student’s Pass via the SOLAR system upon your acceptance into the Master of Public Health program. Upon approval of your Student’s Pass, the original approval letter issued by the Immigration & Checkpoint (ICA) and the valid passport must be presented to the Duty Officer at the Immigration checkpoint upon arrival in Singapore. More information about Student’s Pass may be found at http://app.ica.gov.sg/serv_visitor/Student_pass/Student_pass_app_only.asp. Please note that spouses and/or children of international coursework graduate students are not sponsored by the University for their visa applications. Application of their Social Visit Pass (SVP) have to be made directly at the Visitor Services Centre, 4th Floor ICA and a bond is required. The amount of the bond is to be established by ICA and the student must have already obtained a Student’s Pass issued by the ICA at the time of application. A Local Sponsor (Singapore Citizen / Permanent Resident) is required in order to apply for a SVP for spouse and/or children. (2) Accommodation (International Students Only) International students may consider accommodation either at the NUS Graduate Student Residences or find off-campus private accommodation. For candidates who are interested in applying for NUS Graduate Student Residences, you may visit the Office of Student Affair’s website at http://www.nus.edu.sg/osa/housing/acc/gd.html for more details. For candidates who are interested in looking for off-campus private accommodation, upon registration as a student, you may search for the information from NUS off-campus Accommodation System at http://www.nus.edu.sg/rental. For short-term accommodation, students may consider the YMCA (Tel: 65-6336 6000 or http://ymcaih.com.sg) or local hotels.
