Dlena M Verkooijen wins the SIAK/ESSEX prize

Dr Helena M Verkooijen has been awarded the SIAK / ESSEX prize for her work in the field of breast cancer epidemiology. The prize of 20,000 Swiss francs is awarded by ESSEX Chemie SA (a subsidiary company of Schering-Plough), and is attributed by the Swiss Institute for Applied Cancer Research to clinical researchers under 40 years.This prize is yearly installed by the Swiss Institute for Applied Cancer Research (SIAK)

Congratulations to Prof Chia Kee Seng and A/Prof Saw Seang Mei who won the Garland W Clay Award by the American Academy of Optometry for the most cited paper in the past five years in Optometry and Vision Science.
 
Congratulations to Dr Gerald Koh whose paper was one of 6 shortlisted (out of 319 papers) for the NHG Doctor Awards, NHG Annual Scientific Congress 2006.

The title of the paper was"Serum ECP correlates with asthma severity and salivary ECP correlates with co-existence of allergic rhinitis in children.

 
Congratulations to Dr Koh Woon Puay who won the Best Oral Paper Award for the category on General Practice at the NHG Annual Scientific Congress 2006.

The title of the paper was "Peripheral Arterial Disease among Diabetic Patients in the Community-the National Healthcare Group Polyclinic Study."

 
Congratulations to Dr Koh Woon Puay, who was awarded the First Prize for her Oral presentation on " Body Mass Index, Physical Activity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Singapore Chinese Health Study "at the Second Singapore Public Health and Occupational Medicine Conference, Chapter of Public Health and Occupational Physicians, Academy of Medicine, Singapore held from 13-14 July 2006
