One of our COFM undergraduate Community Health Project (CHP) groups was awarded the Best Oral Presentation (Primary Care Category) Award for the National Healthcare Group Annual Scientific Congress on 10 Nov 2007:

Lim Tian Hong, et. al. The seroprevalence of past dengue infection and proportion of undiagnosed past dengue infection among residents in the West Coast district of Singapore.

 
Congratulations to Asst Prof Koh Woon Puay who was awarded First runner-up for Best Research Presentation Award at the 1st Asian & Oceanian Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Congress (AOPMC) for the paper entitled, "Tea and Risk Of Parkinson's Disease among Chinese in Singapore", on 22 October 2007 in Singapore
 
Congratulations to A/Prof Saw Seang Mei who was awarded the 2007 The Eye Institute-Pfizer Research Prize for Outstanding Original Paper, entitled "An evidence-based analysis of surgical interventions for uncomplicated rhegmatogenous retinal detachment."
 
Professor David Koh was presented a Certificate of Re-Appointment as Visiting Consultant by the Minister of Defence during the Minister's Dinner for MINDEF Volunteers 2007, 16 August 2007.

Congratulations to Dr Koh Woon Puay who was awarded the Faculty Teaching Excellence Award 2005-2006. This Award recognizes staff members who have achieved excellence as teachers in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in the last academic year.

Congratulations to A/Prof Chia Sin Eng who was awarded a NMRC Grant of $167,000 for a study on "A Phase One Case-Control Study to Evaluate the Risk Factors for Prostate Cancer" in December 2007.
 
Congratulations to Dr Koh Woon Puay who was awarded a NMRC Grant of $50,600 for a study on "A Prospective Study of Dietary and Lifestyle Risk Factors of Hip Fractures among the Elderly in the Singapore Chinese Health Study" in December 2007.
 
Congratulations to A/Prof Saw Seang Mei who was awarded a grant of $103,500 by Essilor International S.A. Essilor Research and Development Centre for project entitled "Peripheral Refraction in Preschool Children".
 
Congratulations to Dr Gerald Koh who was awarded a grant of $10,000 by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Welfare Foundation for project entitled "Effects of exercise on mental health in the elderly".
