Launch of Adopt-A-Book Campaign on 20 August 07
We were honoured to have Ms Yong Ying-I with us to launch this fund raising initiative towards the Medical Students' Bursary Fund on 20 August 07. Unknown to many, up to 10% of our students face significant difficulty in raising enough money to buy basics including their own textbooks.
To mark this special occasion, 220 sets of stamps capturing the transition of the old library at College of Medicine Building and the one at Kent Ridge were released on that day to donors. And to mark the library’s 22 years at Kent Ridge, we introduced 22 limited edition stamp sets stamps which were given to donors who have pledged a minimum donation of $2,500. The stamp sets feature the signatures of SoM’s faculty who have served as University Vice-Chancellor, Provost and Dean during the period 1985-2007.
