Launch of N Balachandran Professorship on 24 August 07
The National University of Singapore's School of Medicine has set up a new S$3 million Professorship in Paediatric Orthopaedics.
It is in the name of the late Professor N Balachandran, an orthopaedic surgeon.
His wife, Mrs Rita Balachandran, donated S$1.5 million which is matched dollar-for-dollar by the government.
The professorship will be awarded annually to eminent international experts to further develop Singapore's capability in the field of paediatric orthopaedics.
