Buy A Lunch Appeal

A Heartfelt Gift from the Medical Fraternity to Medical Students in Financial Need

Dearest Doctor and Mentor,

Buy A Lunch Appeal Congratulations on passing your final examinations at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine!

As you begin the concrete steps towards becoming a successful doctor, your juniors would like to take this opportunity to wish you every success in your professional and personal lives. We hope that despite your busy lives, you will continue to stay in touch with us here at the School of Medicine. Your prayers and kind thoughts every now and then will be an important source of inspiration and encouragement to young student doctors like ourselves. More importantly, we urge you to remember a number of our classmates who are challenged each day with worries of financial hardship and the possibility of having to give up his or her dreams of becoming a doctor.

We humbly ask if you could gift a donation of S$40. That's lunch and coffee once a week for one semester. Or to cover transportation costs for two weeks. Depending how you look at it, your kind donation of S$40 will make a huge difference to the future of our fellow students.

Buy them a lunch today.

Adopt-A-Book Campaign

Dearest Doctors and Friends,

Adopt-A-Book Campaign With technological advances, electronic books (eBooks) on computers and hand-held reading devices such as Palmtops are fast becoming an important learning resources for medical staff and students. In Medicine, the traditional way of inserting bookmarkers and highlighting key medical terms in books will always remain an integral part of learning practices. It is often hard not to reminisce of our student days when we spot the colourful highlighted pages marked out by a medical student on his textbook. Textbooks still remain close to our hearts in the medical fraternity despite the technological era.

Unknown to many, up to 10% of our students face significant difficulty in raising enough money to buy basics including their own textbooks.

And you can help!

Your tax deductible donation to the Adopt-A-Book Campaign allows us to purchase new medical books for needy medical students. Your contribution will also go towards The Medical Students' Bursary Fund to assist our students who are in financial hardship.

Your generosity will be recognized with a nameplate on the front cover of the book(s) purchased by the medical school.

Mail your donation today.
