PRIMARY MASTER OF MEDICINE (ANAESTHESIOLOGY) EXAMINATION PREPARATORY COURSE

Description:

The 2-week intensive course is exam-oriented and will comprise tutorials, trial written and oral exams.

Application:

AApplicants are required to create an account and submit an online application, via DGMS Online System for Course Applications (OSCA): https://medworks.nus.edu.sg/osca/home.aspx.

All applications (inclusive of the non- refundable SGD 20 application fees) should be made online by the closing date as stipulated above. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained.

The following documents must be submitted with the online application:

  • 1 passport-sized photograph (400 x 514 pixel)
  • Certified copy of the following documents:
    • MBBS certificate*
    • NRIC : for locals / Permanent Residents
    • Employment Pass and Passport : for foreigners (residing in Singapore)

* Candidates must submit an authenticated translation if their official supporting documents is not in English. A fresh ink stamp must be used to authenticate the copy or translation of the primary medical qualification.

DGMS is not obliged to give any reasons for unsuccessful applications.

Withdrawal Policy:

If candidate decides to withdraw after placement is confirmed, he/she must write in to DGMS.

  1. If written notice of withdrawal is received before the acceptance of placement deadline, a refund, less the application fee will be made.
  2. If written notice of withdrawal is received after the acceptance of placement deadline, or the candidate fails to attend the course for any reason, no refund will be administered.

Applicants must

  1. be a holder of MBBS qualification and be registered with Singapore Medical Council (SMC) at the point of exam application
  2. have completed minimum 6 months of Anaesthesiology postings at the point of the examination

    Eligibility Criteria:

    1. be a holder of MBBS qualification and be registered with Singapore Medical Council (SMC) at the point of exam application
    2. have completed 32 months of Anaesthesiology postings at the point of the examination
    3. have passed either 1 of the following exams:
      1. Primary M.Med(Anaes) Exam
      2. Primary Exam, ANZCA
      3. Primary Exam, RCA(UK)
      4. MCAI (must be completed by end 2014)
      5. HKCA Intermediate Exam
    4. have to be an Anaesthesiology Resident, Trainee undergoing Basic Specialist Training (BST) or one who has completed BST but has yet to pass Final M.Med(Anaes) Exam.

    Supporting documents could be stamp certified true copy by any of the following:

    1. Notary public (lawyer)
    2. Issuing university or school and
    3. Head of the Department bearing his official designation, department and signature.

    Those who fail to present their original documents for verification without acceptable reasons will be deemed to have withdrawn from the examination.

    Application:

    Please submit your application via Graduate Admission System (GDA2) by the closing date as stipulated above. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained.
