JOINT FINAL MASTER OF MEDICINE (DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY) / FINAL FRCR (PART B) EXAMINATION PREPARATORY COURSE

Format:

The 2-day intensive course is exam-oriented and will comprise Reporting Sessions, Rapid Reporting Sessions and oral mock examinations. All components of the examination are presented digitally using computer workstations comprising an Apple Mac Mini, a mouse and images will be viewed through Osirix software similar to the Final MMed (Diagnostic Radiology) / FRCR (Part B) examination.

Application:

Applicants will need to create an account and submit an online application via Online System for Course Applications (OSCA) by Tuesday, 20 December 2016, 2359hrs.

The following documents must submitted with the online application:

  • 1 passport‐sized photograph (image in jpeg format has to be 400 x 514 pixel)
  • Scanned coloured certified true copy of following documents (Official English translations will be required for stamps or certificates sent that are not in English) :
    • MBBS Certificate
    • NRIC for Singapore Citizen / Permanent Resident
    • Employment Pass and Passport for foreigners residing in Singapore
    • Passport for foreigners residing outside Singapore

Photocopies of certificates and/or official translations (in English) including any other official supporting documents will be accepted only if they have been prepared and/or authenticated by one of the following:

  • the issuing University or Medical School;
  • Medical Council of which you are registered and licensed to practice
  • Government Ministries of Health;
  • a notary public or Justice of the Peace;
  • Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) - For authentication by DGMS office, original certificates and documents must be produced.

DGMS is not obliged to give any reasons for unsuccessful applications.

JOINT FINAL MASTER OF MEDICINE (DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY) / FINAL FRCR (PART B) EXAMINATION

Exam dates:

30 April – 5 May 2017

Application Period:

1 December 2016, 0000hrs – 9 January 2017, 2359hrs (Singapore time)

Format:

All components of the examination are presented digitally using computer workstations comprising an Apple Mac Mini, a mouse and images will be viewed through Osirix software. The examination comprises a Reporting Session (6 cases in 60 minutes), a Rapid Reporting Session (30 cases in 35 minutes) and two oral examinations (each with a pair of examiners and of 30 minutes duration).

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. At least 34 Months of clinical radiology training
  2. Passed all modules of the FRCR Part 2A examination

Admission:

There are limited places available for the 2017 sitting of the Singapore examination. Priority will be given to Singapore local trainees, residents and applicants who are residing in Singapore. Oversea applications will be processed on a first-come-first serve basis. Acknowledgement of receipt of application does not guarantee a placement for the exam. Division of Graduate Medical Studies (DGMS) reserves the right to reject an application without giving any reasons.

Application: This is a conjoint exam, Applicants can choose to apply for:

  1. Final Master of Medicine (Diagnostic Radiology) standalone examination, or
  2. Final Master of Medicine(Diagnostic Radiology) / FRCR Part B examinations

Applicants cannot choose to take FRCR Part B as a standalone examination.

  1. ALL examination applicants will need to create and online account and submit the application through the NUS Graduate Admission System by the application deadline. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that their application is completed by the stipulated closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Hard copy applications and applications received through email will not be accepted.
  2. For Final FRCR Part B Exam: Applicants must prepare the FRCR Part B application form, 4 recent passport-sized photographs and training supervisor’s letter and FRCR Part B examination fee. ONLY applicants with confirmed placement will be notified via email at a later date to send the required documents.

A candidate must pay both the fees to take the Final Master of Medicine and Final FRCR Part B examination. If the candidate only chooses to take Final Master of Medicine standalone examination, then he/she only pays the Final MMed exam fee. Application fee MUST be paid at the time of application. Upon successful placement, examination fee must be paid.

SINGAPORE RAPID REPORTING PREPARATORY COURSE

Format:

The one day course which aims to impart the skills and technique required for radiology residents and trainees to pass the Rapid Reporting Session (RRS), will involve six sessions of Rapid Reporting with two didactic lectures. The images will be presented on computer work-stations each comprising an Apple Mac Mini and a mouse. Images will be viewed through OsiriX software which replicates the Final MMed (Diagnostic Radiology) / FRCR (Part B) examination. Images used for the course will be curated by members of the Master of Medicine (Diagnostic Radiology) Committee, who are also present or past examiners of the conjoint Examination

Application:

Applicants will need to create an account and submit an online application via https://medworks.nus.edu.sg/osca/home.aspx by Thursday, 18 August 2016, 2359hrs (local time).

The following documents must be submitted with the online application:

    • Basic medical degree certificate (MBBS)
    • NRIC : for locals / Permanent Residents

Minimum and Maximum Placement:

The maximum capacity for the intake is 30. Should there be an over-subscription, you may be placed on the waiting list and we will contact you once there is vacancy. The course will proceed if we receive 15 or more course participants.
