The Department of Microbiology consists of driven Faculty Members who create a vibrant environment for learning and research. The Department is involved in teaching of Medical, Science, Dental and Nursing students. There is strong commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. This has translated to development of several modules highlighting current hot topics in Infection and Immunity. Lectures are delivered by dedicated Faculty Members and are complemented with ample opportunities to master latest techniques during the laboratory sessions. 

Over the years research discoveries from the Department have received many accolades and recognitions. The varied interests of the Faculty Members have spawned research into many aspects of Microbiology and Immunology making the Department highly attractive for postgraduate studies. In addition, the Department is very successful in obtaining external research funding for all the research activities. The numbers of publication in high impact scientific journals increases year on year.
