The applicant should have a strong interest in microbiology and immunology.
BSc/MSc in life sciences, immunology, biotechnology or related subjects with at least one year of laboratory experience.
Experience with clinical immunology is an advantage.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Immunology and Translational Medicine

Applications are invited from postdoctoral fellows with substantial relevant experience in immunology and/or genetics to coordinate and grow a collaborative translational research programme in autoimmunity between the National University of Singapore and associated hospitals, and the University of Cambridge. Both partners have excellent facilities and a strong commitment to basic immunology and translational medicine (e.g. Nat Med 2005;11:1056, Science 2006;314:454, PNAS 2007;104:7169, Nat Imm 2007;8:419, J Immunol  2007;178:4771, J Exp Med 2008;205:883). The position is funded by the National Medical Research Council for up to 3 years.

The post will be based at the NUS, and applicants may spend up to a month per year in Cambridge. The programme involves flow cytometry, cellular assays, and microarray analysis of samples from patients with autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, to understand disease pathogenesis and discover therapeutic targets and biomarkers (e.g. BMC Genomics 2007;8:64, J Exp Med 2008;205:1573-82).
