Research Interest

Medical Microbiology
Medical aspects of microbiology, particularly in the areas of activity of antimicrobial agents and mechanisms of immunity and pathogenesis in infection.

  • Sub-MIC and post-antibiotic effect (PAE) effects of antibacterial drugs on Streptococcus intermedius and other bacteria
  • Modulation of respiratory burst activity of human polymorphonuclear neutrophil cells
  • Efficacy of antibacterial drugs against intracellular pathogens and strategies to augment drug activities in this situation
