Qualifications

MBBS (Syd, Hons 1), MD (NUS), FRACP, FAMS (Gastro)

Prof Ho graduated from the University of Sydney (MBBS) with first class honours in 1986 and did his initial postgraduate training in New Zealand. After obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in internal medicine, he joined the Department of Medicine at the National University of Singapore(NUS) in 1994 as a Research Fellow.

From 1997-1998, he was a Visiting Fellow at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was trained in therapeutic endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. In 1998, he received doctorate degree (MD) from the National University of Singapore for a thesis entitled "Gastrooesophageal Reflux Disease in Singapore", and was awarded the Advanced Specialist Certificate in Gastroenterology in the same year.

Research Interests

Prof Ho has profound clinical experience in gastro-intestinal and liver diseases. His practice encompasses general gastro-intestinal and liver disorder with special interests in therapeutic endoscopy and functional bowel diseases. His research interests are wide ranged, and include functional gastrointestinal diseases, gastrointestinal oncology, and gastrointestinal endoscopy. Prof Ho has been an invited speaker and live case demonstrator at various international scientific meetings and workshops, and has won awards for his work in research and the academe. He is the immediate past President of the Gastroenterological Society of Singapore.
