Visitors to the Botanic Gardens on Saturday 23 June 2001 would have seen the Turner Syndrome Support Group congregating at the beautiful Visitors' Centre, before moving off to the day's activities.

As a sort of preliminary to the actual games and interaction, we were first brought on a short nature ramble. Various plants were introduced and discussed, and this was an extremely interesting session, considering that parents were recognising the flora of their childhood which they hadn't seen since.

Then, it was on to the games! First up was one where participants were split into 2 groups - each team had to send a member, one to be hidden on each side of a canvas cloth. When the cloth was dropped, they had to call out the other person's name, and the faster one "captured" the other. Much hilarity ensued, as participants spluttered and stammered! Even the onlookers had to laugh as they saw people struggling to recall the names they had just heard during the introductions.

There followed 2 more games - scavenger hunt, where participants looked for tags with animals, colours and shapes, and a plant identification game, in which families went around looking for common names and Latin names for different types of plants.

Of course, there was the makan and talking session too! Ground sheets were laid out, and the conversations went full steam while sandwiches were munched. Finally, we ended off with a short walk in the Orchid Enclosure, with lots of great flowers and greenery, a perfect end to the morning.
