COLLABORATIONS AND ACTIVITIES:

Research information from the GRP are shared with government and non-governmental organizations including the Elderly Care and Policy Divisions of the Ministry of Community Development (MCDS), Elderly & Continuing Care Division, Ministry of Health, and the Gerontological Society of Singapore (GSS), Singapore Action Group of Elders (SAGE), and fed up to the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Aging for national policy and planning.

The GRP is funded by grants from A-STAR Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) and the National Medical Research Council. It also combines its research mission with social service at its SLAS study centre in the community. As a partner in community service project with Community Development Councils, it receives high level support from and forges close community relations with local grassroots leaders and residents in the Council areas, while providing free health examination and talks. The CDC provides substantial support and assistance in setting up study sites at Residential Committee and Senior Citizens Centres for the ongoing conduct of the research.
