Investigating the interactions between gelsolin and signaling pathways in tumour cells

Gelsolin is an actin-binding protein involved in cell migration. It also binds several signaling proteins and is proposed to have functional interactions with these proteins. Work in the laboratory suggests that gelsolin expression alters tumour cell characteristics. Based on evidence from gene expression changes, the project aims to identify key signaling pathways that are perturbed by gelsolin, and ascertain the outcome on tumourigenesis.
