The laboratory has reported that the hypothalamic supramammillary region regulates the excitability of hippocampal region. The supramammillary region has a crucial role in emotional-motivational behaviors and the output to hippocampus might be a basis of cognitive-emotional interactions. Our current goal is to delineate the neurochemistry of functional circuits between the supramammillary region and the hippocampus.
