Immunomodulation

Members of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and TNF receptor families provide essential costimulatory or coinhibitory signals to immune cells. Activation or inhibition of these molecules can lead to an enhancement or a downregulation of immune reactions and can be useful for treatment of cancer or autoimmune diseases, respectively. We are investigating the immunomodulatory activities of the CD137 receptor / ligand system.
