In this aspect of the work, the use of genetically engineered mice deficient in various immune molecules help dissect the mechanisms behind immunological tolerance and the inflammatory process. The current work is in the roles of CD30 and Fas, both TNFR family molecules, in tolerance and regulation of the immune and inflammatory response and angiogenesis.
