The Cancer Biology Program encompasses groups with diverse expertise and interests in various aspects of carcinogenesis, its prevention and therapy. The research capabilities include signal transduction, redox and mitochondrial metabolism, cell fate regulation, autophagy, DNA damage and repair, cell cycle control, genetics and epigenetics, drug discovery and tumor immunology. Several members of the Program are established authorities in their respective domains with a wealth of experience in cell-based and animal models as well as patient-derived primary tissues/cells. The Program aims at providing an environment for nurturing young researchers, staff and graduate students as well as fostering a spirit of collaborative enquiry with groups within and outside of the program. Several groups have co-authored papers and are co-investigators or collaborators on research grants. The Program also has a designated seminar/work in progress series to showcase ongoing findings and to bring group members together.
