In broad terms our laboratory is interested in pulmonary physiology in health and disease. Research in our laboratory is aimed at understanding the role of extracellular matrix proteins on airway smooth muscle phenotype and function, as it relates to airway wall remodeling in chronic inflammatory lung diseases such as asthma. Our long-term goal is to identify novel therapeutic targets for this disease and other disorders that are also characterized by the accumulation of smooth muscle.
